My friend is throwing a Christmas in July party next weekend and asked me to help organize it. I had heard of the term Christmas in July before, but I didn’t know people actually celebrated. Really, though, any reason to get together is a good reason for me! So we started planning, and I started thinking.
Could you imagine celebrating Thanksgiving in June, and then Christmas in July? Happy New Year on August 1st! I think the holiday season would be so much different. I love the cooler weather, and even the snow at times, and Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without being bundled up by the fireplace. I mean, I guess we could have a bonfire outside but it’s just not the same. 
I love the idea of Christmas in July, but I wouldn’t want it to replace Christmas in December! I need my snow and my festivities – even the smell of Christmas wouldn’t be the same without it. However, I’m always up for festivities – and presents – so you won’t hear me complaining about Christmas during any month.
